Truth from Allies

Beginning with this issue, we plan to publish some of the many great letters we receive from our     wonderful supporters who not only support us financially, but give us so much needed encouragement.

Dear Allies of the Lakota,

I just received your letter and would like to applaud you on your great work.

During the past few years I have visited your reservation and saw, first hand, the good job your organizations are doing. I have listened to KILI Radio and enjoyed the programming very much. The Lakota language is fascinating to listen to and I was surprised to hear all of the activities and local news of your area.

I visited Porcupine Clinic and spoke with the staff. The staff told me about the services they offer and patients they see. I couldn't believe how dedicated and pleasant staff were.

I was so moved by your organization that I started my own fundraising drive for Allies. I submitted a letter to my church bulletin and contacted my local organizations for donations. Please accept the enclosed gift as a gift from our hearts.

Keep up the good work.

Dear Allies,

Your recent letter about the tornado in Oglala really moved me. I know of disaster and how hard it is to pick up the pieces.

After reading your letter I decided to take action myself and solicited all of my coworkers for a donation. The checks are included.

Working for Frontier Airlines, our company also has a gift program and I have submitted a request to that program for assistance to Allies of the Lakota. I will keep you informed on the progress of this request.

I hope that you are able to keep the positive work going on your reservation and look forward to your next newsletter.

Sincerely,
Amy
